Professor Manfred Kühnert
As a pioneer in the field of humic acid research, Prof. Manfred Kühnert dedicated his life’s work to the study of natural humic acids. In collaboration with Pharmawerk Weinböhla, he developed the scientific foundation for their application in medicine and nutrition for both humans and animals. His research led to numerous scientific publications, patents, and innovative applications centered on Humic Acids WH67®.
Where research made history
The history of Humic Acids WH67® began in the 1960s with a government-commissioned research project at the University of Leipzig. Working alongside Prof. Manfred Kühnert, researchers established the scientific foundation for their use in human and animal health. The objective was to develop an alternative to antibiotics for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.
The beginning
Government research mandate awarded to the University of Leipzig. Prof. Manfred Kühnert begins a systematic investigation into the potential of humic acids for use in animals.

First follow-up patent “Process for obtaining humic acids” and further development of humic acid technology.
New findings
Further development and new scientific findings have led to another patented innovation: "process for obtaining a sodium humic acid mixture."

Reunion
Following German reunion, production was re-established, and the manufacturing of Humic Acids WH67® was successfully continued.
Additional patent
New inventions strengthen the scientific foundation and expand the range of potential applications, as evidenced by the patent: “Process for the production of humic acid-metal compounds, and their use as adsorption and/or detoxification agents or as a source of trace elements.”
